DVD find leads to arrest for piracy

On Saturday the Santa Paula Police Department, during a routine traffic stop, arrested a subject for possession of over 1500 pirated DVDs for the purpose of sale.

On Saturday the Santa Paula Police Department, during a routine traffic stop, arrested a subject for possession of over 1500 pirated DVDs for the purpose of sale. Many of the movies are still in theaters.The subject, whose true identity is unknown, was booked into Ventura County Jail as Julian Martinez, 20 years old of Santa Paula, and charged with felony video piracy along with giving false information to a peace officer.
Martinez admitted to purchasing the DVDs in Los Angeles with the intention of selling them locally. He told officers they were for sale at $5 each.
