Weingardt is the production manager for Miller Magazines, which publishes special interest magazines. She is the southern regional director, PAC member and issues chair of the California National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC), and served as its vice president of communications. She also is the past president and current education and training chair of the NWPC, Ventura County Board. Weingardt is a board member of the Coalition to End Family Violence, Ventura County Leadership Academy, Harvard University Generations Policy Project and Reproductive Rights Network of Ventura County. She chaired and served on boards of Ventura County Commission for Women and Women’s Political Appointments Coalition of Ventura County.The Workforce Investment Board of Ventura County oversees workforce development in the county. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors recently appointed Marcos Vargas and Celeste Weingardt to the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Ventura County.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors recently appointed Marcos Vargas and Celeste Weingardt to the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Ventura County.Vargas is the founding executive director of the Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy (CAUSE), a community planning and policy research center serving Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. He has 20 years of experience in policy advocacy and grassroots community development and 12 years of nonprofit management experience.Vargas has served as the executive director of El Concilio del Condado de Ventura, was the founding chair of the Ventura County Living Wage Coalition and served as the director of planning for the United Way of Ventura County. He earned his Ph.D. in urban planning from the University of California at Los Angeles and his dissertation addresses the expanding public policy and community development role of ethnic community-based organizations in California.
