The California Unruh Civil Rights Act also protects from housing discrimination based on age and protects the right to freedom from violence and intimidation in housing. The Housing Rights Workshop will bring together Santa Paula and surrounding communities with the purpose of informing and educating community members on fair housing laws, what is unlawful under fair housing laws, and how to prevent housing discrimination. Other topics shall include tenant-landlord rights and responsibilities, rent increases, evictions, notices and more. The workshop will also provide the opportunity to present the Housing Rights Center, its program and services to the community.
