2008 Santa Paula AYSO opening celebration held Saturday at Teague Park

Santa Paula AYSO held opening day activities Saturday at Teague Park. (Photo above left) There were soccer drill activities, prizes, a jolly-jumper, face painting, a pizza booth and much more as the 2008 season gets underway. Even the little ones got in the action at the AYSO opening, as this young man (above right photo) tries for a goal (photos by Brian D. Wilson). The AYSO has implemented a “VIP” Program this year (bottom photo). It’s designed to meet the needs of special needs participants. They have two VIP teams this first year, along with volunteer “Buddies,” who will assist kids of their own age range. VIP participants from Piru and Fillmore are also taking part. (Photo provided)
