Jay S. Hight aka Junior S. Hight

Jay S. Hight was born in Cabool, Missouri on April 16, 1925 and passed away in Grass Valley, CA on July 13, 2011.

He served proudly in the Navy, and was a longtime respected businessman in Santa Paula, CA, Ventura County.

In Santa Paula he was an active member in the Kiwanis Club and served on the Planning Commission. He enjoyed his years in Santa Paula, and then found his next challenge by moving to Grass Valley, CA, Nevada County.

Jay loved the ocean, then found great pleasure in the foothills and the change of seasons.

He leaves behind his wife Helga, and was loved and respected by his children, Bud, Theresa, Joe (Susan) and Jim (Lois), as well as his stepchildren, Brenda (Dan), Mike, Eric (Maria) and Jeanette.

Jay grew up with hard times, in a family of eight children.

Preceding him in death are brothers Bud, Jim and Victor; also sisters Wilma and Faye. Jay lost his daughter Jayne just a few years ago.

Surviving  are sisters Jenny and Amy, and nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.

He was a sweet and gentle soul and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later time.

Antonio “Tony” Pacheco

Antonio “Tony” Pacheco, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, entered into Eternal Life on July 22, 2011. Tony, as he was known, was born on February 26, 1939 in Santa Paula, CA, where he also remained as a lifelong resident. 

Tony worked for Ameron in Fillmore for more than 20 years, but was also referred to as a “renaissance man” who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR, and visiting/sitting with neighbors/friends and family. Most importantly, he was a doting father and grandfather.

Tony is survived by his son Anthony Pacheco Jr. of Ventura; daughter Antoinette Rabago (husband Edward) of Santa Paula; grandchildren: Anthony, Miranda, Javier, Hailey, Justine, Noah, David Pacheco, Mariah, Taylor, Edward II and Destiny Rabago; brothers: Tommy, Joe, and Felipe Pacheco; and sister Beatrice Gomez. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jose and Torivia Pacheco; and siblings: Johnny Pacheco, Susie Saenz and Frances Aguilar.

A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled to be celebrated on Thursday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, with Father Thomas J. Dome, C.R.I.C. officiating. Committal and Interment followed at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
