Ruth Evelyn Thompson Hale 

Long time Santa Paula resident, Ruth Evelyn Thompson Hale, daughter of Winifred and Ernest Thompson, departed to join her husband Clifford on November 11th. Ruth was born at the Elizabeth Bard Memorial Hospital in Ventura in 1920 and was raised in Santa Barbara.    Ruth attended and graduated from Santa Barbara schools, earning her teaching credential from UCSB. There she met her future husband, Clifford Hale and they were later married at the Santa Paula Presbyterian Church.  They settled in town to raise their two daughters, Donna and Deborah.  Ruth and Cliff were both high school teachers, Cliff in Santa Paula, Ruth in Ojai then Fillmore. 

Ruth was also a member of Sigma Kappa Gama and Delta Kappa Gama. She and Cliff were members of the Santa Paula Presbyterian Church.

Ruth is survived by her daughters Donna Pinkerton and Deborah Koch, and their husbands. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Dara McCoy and Rob Pinkerton and four great grandchildren, Ian and Toby McCoy, Robert and Kaitlyn Pinkerton.    

She will be missed by family and friends.
