The figure is a whopping 30.2 percent decrease from last year.Tony Oak View was the big April 2002 real estate winner with a median sales price for 13 single-family homes of $309,000, a huge 30.8 percent increase over the previous year.A big loser was Somis, with only 3 home sales in April 2002 at a median price of $275,000, a 38.8 percent decrease over the previous year.Ventura’s Zip Code 93001 condominium market went wild with a 94.8 percent increase over a year ago with seven units sold at a median $414,000 price. Santa Paula median home prices were hotter than ever in April when compared to a year ago with single-family dwellings selling at a 12 percent increase and condominiums flying off the market at prices 36 percent above April 2001.
By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesSanta Paula median home prices were hotter than ever in April when compared to a year ago with single-family dwellings selling at a 12 percent increase and condominiums flying off the market at prices 36 percent above April 2001.According to the latest report from DataQuick Information Systems of La Jolla, Ventura County continues to be a hot market for real estate and Santa Paula is also basking in the sun of lower monthly mortgage interest rates and a housing shortage.In April 2002, 23 single-family Santa Paula homes sold at a median price of $257,000, 12 percent over April 2001 prices. Condominium sale prices increased by 36 percent hitting a median price tag of $153,000.The home per square foot price in Santa Paula averaged $173, a dramatic increase from last year’s $156 average.Of the 1,012 homes sold in Ventura County in April, there was an 18.2 percent increase - hitting $325,000 - in the median price of single-family homes from a year ago. Condominium sales were also brisk with 343 sales at a median price of $224,000, a 24.2 percent increase over the previous year.
