Ventura County’s largest law firm, Nordman Cormany Hair & Compton, recently promoted two attorneys to partner and welcomed a new associate. Partner Meghan B. Clark of Thousand Oaks works in the firm’s Employment, Intellectual Property and Litigation Law Groups. Partner Melissa H. Sayer of Santa Paula is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Business Law Group. New Associate Spring M. Robinson of Ventura works in the firm’s Real Estate Law Group. “Meghan and Melissa have worked tirelessly for our firm, and it is an honor to welcome them as partners,” says Tony Trembley, managing partner for the firm. “We know Spring will follow in their footsteps.”Clark handles civil litigation matters, including contract disputes and litigation in employment, construction defects, intellectual property and real estate. She has successfully defended employers in lawsuits involving sex harassment and discrimination, pregnancy disability and leave of absence issues and assists employers with day-to-day employment issues. Clark continues to work in the defense of the constitutionality of a local initiative and served as the primary drafter of opposition materials used to defeat challenging motions. Clark graduated with honors in Law and Society from the University of California , Santa Barbara , and was accepted to Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Wash. , at age 20. She serves on the board of directors for the California Young Lawyers Association, is past president of the Ventura County Barristers’ Association, past board member of the Ventura County Bar Association and past coach for the mock trial team at Thousand Oaks High School .Sayer’s transaction-oriented practice includes agricultural real estate, general business, and federal and state securities law compliance. Prior to joining the firm, Sayer was an attorney with a firm in Palo Alto, Calif. , where she worked with a variety of technology clients, focusing on start-up companies, venture capital and initial public offerings. Graduating at the top of her class at Santa Clara University School of Law, Sayer received the American Jurisprudence Award in criminal law, civil procedure, legal research and writing, torts and property. She is actively involved with agricultural and water-related issues through her work with the Association of Water Agencies and as a member of the Ventura County Farm Bureau, California Avocado Society and California Women for Agriculture.
