Boys’ varsity soccer team shuts out Carpinteria

The Cardinal boys’ soccer team shut out Carpinteria 3-0 Friday in a game played in chilling cold weather. Dela Medina scored two of Santa Paula’s goals. Pedro Duran scored the first goal and assisted Medina’s first goal. Goalkeeper John Nava got his fourth shutout of the season.The Santa Paula varsity is 6-2-3 on the season and 2-0-1 in Tri-Valley League play.The Cardinal JV tied their game against Carpinteria 1-1. Jesus Ramirez scored Santa Paula’s goal.
The boys play tomorrow at Malibu.
