Current officers of the Santa Paula Moose Lodge are: Governor, Richard Mata, Jr. Past Governor, Daniel Mitchell, Jr. Governor, Gerald Williams, Prelate, Thomas Hurtado, Treasurer, Frank Davis, Administrator, Jose Marquez, and Trustees, Raymond Rodriguez, Phillip Hurtado, and Vernon Tubbs. The Lodge currently has 165 active members. The Women of the Moose, a unit of the Loyal Order of Moose, has 128 active members, it’s current officers are: Sr. Regent, Rosanna Rodriguez, Jr. Grad Regent, Evangeline Solis, Jr. Regent, Veronica Hurtado, Chaplain, Deborah Salazar, Secretary/Treasurer, Marjorie Fernandez, and Recorder Eveline Mora. Also, serving with the both board of officers are several members who serve as committee chairpersons for the different committees for both the Loyal Order and the Women of the Moose. At the local level the Moose donates to Santa Paula High School sports, Little League, Girls Softball, and 4-H clubs (to name a few) through time donated by it’s members and monetary donations. The Lodge also participates in the Food Share Program weekly. Lodge members (men and women) meet weekly on Thursday mornings, and package and sort groceries for those in the Food Share Program. Lodge members also personally deliver food share packages to those who are unable to personally pick them up at the Lodge.

Santa Paula Moose Lodge celebrates the 40th Anniversary

The Santa Paula Moose Lodge #2097 celebrated the 40th Anniversary of it’s Charter on July 28, 2007. The Santa Paula Loyal Order of the Moose was chartered on July 14, 1967 and has been at it’s present location of 700 E. Santa Barbara Street since then. The Lodge celebrated with a dinner and dance attended by the Santa Paula Lodge and Chapter members and members of it’s neighboring Lodges of Camarillo, Oxnard, and Ventura. Chairmen for this event were Phillip Hurtado and Raymond Rodriguez.
Special guest speaker for the celebration was Jerry O’Connor, current Interim General Governor at Moose International. Jerry, a member of the Camarillo Lodge, congratulated the membership on it’s 40 years of dedication to the Loyal Order of Moose and reminded them of the primary function of this great organization which is of service to it’s Community, and the support of Mooseheart Child City & School and Moosehaven.Moose International, headquartered at Mooseheart, Illinois, is a fraternal and service organization founded in 1888, comprising nearly 1 million men in the Loyal Order of Moose and nearly 500,000 members of the Women of the Moose, in more than 1,800 Lodges and 1,600 Chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda.The Moose organization founded and continues to support Mooseheart Child City & School, a 1,000-acre community and school for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago; and the Moosehaven retirement community, a 65-acre campus for qualified retired members and their spouses, located near Jacksonville, Florida. Additionally, Moose Lodges and Chapters conduct nearly $90 million worth of community service (county monetary donations and volunteer hours work) annually.
