``Roman Trumpets'' from Piano Adventures by Faber and Faber

``Roman Trumpets'' from Piano Adventures by Faber and Faber reverberates as Nestor Flores plucks out the melody on the keyboard. His classmates, from the left, Joshua Altis, James Juarez, Hannah Grant, Alyssa Grant, Nestor Flores, Haydee Velazquez, Chelsea Juarez, Donna Nelson, Santa Paula Elementary School District music specialist, and Walter Henriquez lend their voices to the song. Pictured are a few of 20 McKevett students who were chosen through a lottery to receive group piano lessons after school for an hour each week throughout the school year. The children and parents were asked to invest only their time coming to class and practicing at home. Books were purchased through a Santa Paula Foundation for Youth grant through the SPESD. McKevett Elementary supplied the keyboards and a music room.
