If you’re hungry like a wolf you’ll love Saturday’s Moonlight at the Ranch VI: “Creatures of the Night!” where close to 40 restaurants will be offering tasty “bites” of their finest cuisine at the celebration, this year returning to Limoneira Park and the historic Courtyard in front of the company’s headquarters.

You’ll have the time of your afterlife at Moonlight, where guests will also be able to vie for a monstrous line up of prizes with a Chinese Raffle (you select what you want to win) and place bids on Silent Auctions, a trip for Eight to Paso Robles’ storied Windfall Farms or a SPPD/SPFD SWAT Training Experience and Fire House Dinner.

The September 22 Moonlight will pay tribute to the immortal stars Bela Lugosi (“Count Dracula”) and Boris Karloff (“Frankenstein’s Monster”). Bela Lugosi Jr. and Sara Karloff, the late stars’ children, are the special guests at this “Creatures of the Night!” celebration.

Tickets are only $60 each and include all the tasty tastings; due to the popularity of the event- which benefits the nonprofit Santa Paula Police & Fire Foundation and Chamber of Commerce - this year guests can reserve a “feasting” table when eight (8) tickets are purchased at the same time. Table reservations are only available at the Santa Paula Times, 944 E. Main St., Santa Paula, or charging by phone, 805-525-1890.

“We’re really excited about our lineup of restaurants,” said Barbara Kroon, the Chamber’s membership services director. “We’ll have tastings for every taste, literally every taste, from Italian and Mexican to American Irish and BBQ... and plenty of sweets too!”

Kroon said there will be plenty of room at Limoneira Park/Bocce Ball Courts, where several restaurants and no-host bars will serving at 6 p.m. leading up to the main event - full feasting, the raffles, dancing to Men on the Moon and more fun, frolic and fiends! - when guests at 7 p.m. “pass on” to the Courtyard in front of the historic Limoneira Headquarters. At 8 p.m. guests will dance under the moon to the Moonlight house band “Men on the Moon,” who will offer rock ‘n’ roll and promise a pre-show skit with a Creature touch of whimsy.

Come in “Creature” costume or as yourself - either way, come hungry like a wolf to enjoy fine cuisine from Aloha Steakhouse, La Trattoria, Anacapa Brewery, Laird’s Butcher Shop & BBQ, The Avocado Diva, Marble Slab Creamery, Best of VC Marketplace, Men of Mesquite, Cafe 126, Movie Train Café, Cafe Fiore, Mupu Grill, Calavo, Ojai Ice Cream & Fudge, Chef Stroh’s Pestos, Panda Express, Chicky Weedy’s, Peirano’s, DJ’s California Catering, Plated Events, El Pescador, Rabalais Bistro, Familia Diaz, Red Hot Foods, Fria, Savory Cafe & Bakery, Garden Market, Scrumdidily Dollops, Garman’s Restaurant & Irish Pub, Surf’n Yogurt, Hozy’s Grill, Tuscany Pizzeria, The Kitchen, We Olive, La Cabaña Restaurant and Zapparelli’s Pizzeria, among others.

Moonlight’s no-host bars will feature the famous Karl Strauss Brewery, a generous Moonlight sponsor, providing its notable “Oktoberfest” in honor of Frankenstein’s Monster, known to crash a few of the seasonable celebrations in search of a cold one. And, of course Bloody Mary’s will also be available in honor of Count Dracula!

Moonlight brags that its drink tickets are among the lowest priced of any fundraiser: water and soda are only $2, delicious Karl Strauss beer only $4 and wine and mixed drinks only $6.

Moonlight promises to be a “Thriller” of an evening where you’ll have a “Scream” of a great time while you get your zombie on.

Tickets - only $60 each! - are also available in Santa Paula at the Chamber of Commerce, 200 N. 10th St., and The Best of VC Marketplace, 108 N. 10th Street. Tickets are also available at The Wine Rack, 14 S. California St., Ventura.
