Janna Minsk, AICP, Planning Director for the City of Santa Paula, was presented with two awards at this year’s annual American Planning Association California Chapter (APACA) state conference held in Rancho Mirage, October 20 -24.

Ms. Minsk was first recognized by the Chapter for her past four years’ service as the state Vice President of Conferences, a role that oversaw the last four state conferences requiring both coordination of many participants in preparing for the conference, and overseeing the budget for those events.

The second recognition, given in front of 1,000 of her professional peers, was a special Distinguished Service Award presented by the outgoing APACA president honoring her 30 years of involvement with APACA including leadership roles as both past financial officer and director of the Central Coast Section (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties), along with her activity on the state Board of APACA over the past four years.

Ms. Minsk, who has her Masters Degree in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, has also been a mentor to students in that university’s program and a leader in good community planning throughout the Central Coast and state.
