She added, “I also think Coach Vanessa needs to workout more. I was definitely not in volleyball shape after 20 years and my husband said I need to workout more.”

Lady Cards go 1-2 in exhibition match with coaches

The Lady Cardinal volleyball varsity team took on the coaches in an exhibition match Monday night.
The coaches, with help from pro beach volleyball player Mariko Coverdale (Coach Mo), came out on top two games to one. She was the head coach this summer for the gold medal squared camp,
Varsity Coach Vanessa Williams said the girls played very well and played the best defense she’s seen yet. Their energy and communication were as good as ever as well,” she added. “There was an outstanding effort by Marissa Ramos, Felicia Magana, Kayla Stockton, Bailey Van Buren and Selina Martinez. Marissa and Bailey played exceptional defense and both dug Coach Mo’s hits a couple times.”
