Larry Thomas Crisman
Larry Thomas Crisman was born to Burl and Betty Crisman in Santa Paula on April 25, 1954. He passed away on February 25, 2015 in the Westwood VA Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Larry attended Santa Paula schools and graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1972.
When Larry was 19 he joined the Air Force and served in Langley, Virginia. It was there he met Deanna Sue Smith and was married. They have one son, Scott, who was born in 1976.
As a teenager Larry enjoyed hunting and dirt bike riding with his dad and uncles. He also enjoyed fishing with his son Scott. When he wasn’t working and the weather was nice you could find him at the beach. He always sported a nice tan. He also enjoyed sports, especially Lakers basketball. You seldom saw him without his Lakers cap.
Larry has lived in St. Roberts, Missouri and Gardnerville, Nevada, but lived most of his life in his hometown Santa Paula. He worked at the Fruit Growers Lab in Santa Paula for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father Burl Crisman, grandparents, Sonny and Edith Crisman and Otis and Bethel Bradshaw.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Crisman, son Scott Crisman (Maricela), granddaughter, Sarah Nicole Crisman, ex-wife, Sue Crisman, sisters Susanne Hobson (Mark), Annette Nichols (Jeff), Melissa Smith (James), nephews, Chris and Dustin Nichols, nieces, Brittany Malette Maldonado, Haley Malette, Emily Hobson and Amy Nichols, great nephew, Brenden Malette-Hunt and great niece, Trinity Nichols.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Life Way Baptist Church, 673 Santa Paula Street in Santa Paula
