Cowboy magic and Acadiana spice up Pumpkin Patch festivities October 26 & 27

There’s magic in “them thar hills” when cowboy magician Lincoln Bond intertwines his prestidigitation skills with the romance and mystery of the old west at the Faulkner Farm Pumpkin Patch on Saturday and Sunday, October 26 and 27. A member of the Magic Castle and honoree of the prestigious Academy of Magical Arts, Bond is the only Cowboy Magician in the U.S. Catch his magic throughout the weekend as he strolls the festival grounds.
Also this weekend, Acadiana is back for its annual Pumpkin Patch engagement. It’s always a concert with a capital “C” when Ventura’s most popular “Cajun ‘n Zydeco” band takes center stage. From the sizzling fiddle of Phil Salazar to the low slung sounds of lead guitarist Teresa Russell, to the beads and the washboards - Acadiana is a one-band Mardi Gras that always strikes the right note. Performances are scheduled both days from noon to 4 p.m.Ojai Quilters Anonymous will add a patchwork of color to the farm’s festivities with displays and step-by-step quilt-making demonstrations, also from noon until 4 p.m. This traditional activity is well suited to Faulkner Farm, an actual 19th century farm, which is operated today as the Hansen Agricultural Learning Center by the University of California.The 28th Annual Pumpkin Patch and Harvest Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily through Halloween, with additional weekend festivities that include pony rides, a giant sunflower forest, scenic hay rides, haystacks to climb and farm animals to pet.
