One hundred fifty-seven Post Offices serving the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including Santa Paula’s Post Office at 111 S. Mill St., are ready to deliver the holidays for you with expanded office hours. “Our Post Offices are expecting a very busy holiday mail season, and we are working hard to make everything quick, easy and convenient for our customers,” said Lakewood Postmaster Robert McGuire, who was recently selected “Customer Service Ambassador” for the U.S. Postal Service’s Pacific Area, representing all postmasters in California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.“We encourage customers to mail early and to ship all their holiday packages with the Postal Service,” said McGuire. “We have some great rates, especially for Priority Mail, in addition to Delivery Confirmation, low-rate package insurance coverage, colorful holiday stamps and other mailing services.“Our customers also have the option of sending their holiday packages from the comfort of their home or business by using our Click-N-Ship online package service at www.usps.com/clicknship. Insurance is available, and Delivery Confirmation is free using this service. Plus, if you use Click-N-Ship, your regular carrier will pick up an unlimited number of Priority or Express Mail packages for free when scheduled in advance,” said McGuire. When using First Class and Priority Mail to mail cards and packages domestically, the Postal Service recommends mailing out-of-state mail by Tuesday, December 21, and in-state mail by Wednesday, December 22. After those dates, customers can still use Express Mail for their packages going to many destinations.
Customers mailing to military servicepersons overseas and to international locations are advised to mail those packages as soon as possible to save on rates and to get them there by Christmas. Most military overseas mail and international mail should be sent by December 11 to arrive by Christmas. Express Mail is available after those dates.Extended customer service hours end December 21. The Santa Paula Post Office is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
