Santa Paula won the varsity game 52-37. This improved the Cardinal season record to 8-9 overall and 3-0 in the Frontier League.
Highlights for the Cardinals were Brandon Casas 15 points, five rebounds, three steals before fouling out of the game at the four minute mark of the third quarter; Joshua Garay 10 points, three rebounds; Nicholas Aguilera eight points, four rebounds, one steal; Tim Garcia seven points, three rebounds, two steals; Gabriel Diaz five points, five rebounds, six steals; Eddie Perez five points, five rebounds, one steal; Daniel Perez one three point bomb; and Isaac Ramirez two points, three rebounds, two steals. Coach Danny Guzman stated that the “guys really dug in and played tough defense.”
