Dewey Lee Hurt, age 79, passed away February 9, 2002 at Coleman, Oklahoma. He was born December 31, 1922 to James and Zella Hurt at Enterprise, Oklahoma. Dewey had been living in Coleman, Oklahoma for the past 2 years coming from Santa Paula. He was a Operating Engineer with the Teamsters.Dewey is survived by his wife, Marie Hurt from Coleman, Oklahoma; daughter, Norma Alfred Rushing, from Ventura, California; grandchildren, Leslie Santiago Montanez and Lori McLaughlin from Oxnard; great grandchildren, Alex and Nicklas Montanez and Matthew McLaughlin from Oxnard; brother, Ivy R. and wife Mildred Hurt from Ojai and sister-in-law, Daphne Hurt from Lake Elsinore and Wilbalee Hurt from Lindsay, California. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Zella and brothers Frank, Bill and Hubert.Services were on Tuesday February 19, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at Skillin Carroll Chapel in Santa Paula. Burial was at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.

Ruth E. Smith
Ruth E. Smith, age 85, passed away February 12, 2002 at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana. She was born May 14, 1916 in Oxnard, and was a San Bernardino resident for six years.She was a member of the Santa Paula Presbyterian Church, and an organist there for 10 years.She is survived by her sister, Blanche Brown of San Bernardino, and three nieces.Graveside services were held February 18 at Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements were entrusted to Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, San Bernardino.Dewey Lee Hurt
