SP Lemons go 0-2 last weekend

The host Santa Paula Lemons, of the Gold Coast Senior Slow Pitch League, played a double-header last weekend at Harding Park. The Lemons lost both games, first to the Ventura Classics 21-3 and then to the Oxnard Braves 22-20.Santa Paula was hitting great against Oxnard but couldn’t quite pull it off in the 7th. The game lead went back and 4th: 5-4 in the first, 8-8 in the 3rd, 12-11 in the 4th, 16-16 in the 6th. Finally, in the 7th Oxnard had 2 runs and 2 outs. They pushed over 4 more runs. The Lemons scored 4 more runs after 2 outs and fell short.Pitcher Rey Jimenez led the hitting going 4-for-5 with 2 doubles; Ken Ary, Len Soprano, Generio Gomez, Ralph De Leon and Dave Stegman hit 3-for-5 and Bob Russell went 2-for-5.
They play the Braves Saturday in Oxnard.
