Lady Cards take big bite out of Sharks with 21-1 win

The Lady Cardinal softball team was in it to win it last week, defeating the visiting Malibu Sharks 21-1.
Marissa Ramos pitched a complete 5-inning game with 7 strikeouts and gave up only 3 hits with Andrea Rodriguez behind the plate. The Lady Cardinals had 13 hits in 4 innings and no errors. The Game ended in the 5 innings due to the Mercy rule.
Top Santa Paula batters- Andrea Rodriguez went 4 for 4 with a Triple, 3 singles, 4 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. Iliana DeLaTrinidad went 2 for 4 with a Grand slam, a Double, 4 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. Miranda Magana went 3 for 3 with a Home run, 2 singles, 3 RBI’s and 3 runs scored. AJ Payne went 1 for 2 with a Home run, 3 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.
The overall team record is15-4 and 5-1 in League play. Their next game is at Grace Brethren Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
