Cardinal swimmers hit the water against Villanova

The varsity girls again dominated the water in a swim meet this week. The Santa Paula swim team hosted Villanova. The varsity girls out swam the Rangers 90-76. Cardinal first place swimmers were: 200-yard Individual Medley, Kristen Mauricio, 2:57.6; 100-yard Freestyle, Kristen Mauricio, 1:06.6; 100-yard Backstroke, Ashley Gonzalez, 1:10.45; 100-yard Breaststroke, Sharon Kim, 1:23.48.The varsity boys lost to Villanova 74-52. Cardinal first place swimmers: 50-yard Freestyle, Daniel Kim, 24.65; 100-yard Breaststroke, Daniel Kim, 1:13.07; 100-yard Butterfly, Adam Oehmke, 1:03.41; 500-yard Freestyle, Adam Oehmke, 5:51.03.The JV girls barely missed out, losing to the Villanova swimmers 62-59. First place Cardinal swimmers: 100-yard Freestyle, Lauren Cabral, 1:19, 50-yard Butterfly, Amanda Borjas, 56.6.
Villanova also won over the Cardinal JV boys 80-39. Santa Paula won the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:18.5. Team members are: Salvador Roman, Pat Henthorn, Raul Rodriguez and Edward Mancilla.
