SPHS GATE students present 7th grade Leadership Conference

Santa Paula High School’s GATE Program will be holding its First Annual 7th Grade GATE Leadership Conference on Saturday, May 20 at Santa Paula High School. The event will cost $5 per student and will include snacks and lunch. The conference is open to all current 7th grade GATE students in Ventura County. QUESTIONS???What if my child is not a GATE student, but is definitely leadership material? Any 7th grade student may attend by recommendation of their school administration.What is a Leadership Conference? The day will be filled with fun and learning activities for 7th grade GATE students from Ventura County. Motivational Media by Camfel Productions, located in Irwindale, CA, will be providing the leadership conference with a three-screen video production on “Voices.” The three-screen assembly will focus on the many voices in our lives. “Voices” will redefine how students feel about themselves and those around them, challenging teens to consider how their voice can be used to give acceptance and appreciation to others. Scott Greenberg from the Josten’s Speakers Bureau will be the keynote speaker. For over 10 years, Scott has been a motivational speaker and leadership consultant. A graduate of UCLA, Scott has devoted his life to studying personal growth, leadership, and group interaction.
Santa Paula High School GATE student leaders will be facilitating the event along with SPHS staff members Justin and Lisa Schmidt, GATE Leadership trainers.How do I go about signing up my students? Registration forms are available at Santa Paula High School’s General Office, or you can call and have one mailed. Scholarships are available.
