Teresa G. Valdivia Tere went to see her Creator peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2006 with her family by her side, after a short illness. Mrs. Valdivia was born April 23, 1941 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and was a 30-year resident of Ventura County.While in Ventura County, she worked as a salesperson. She loved to listen to Mexican trio music, and decorating just about anything. She loved spending her weekends with her husband, selling children’s clothes and religious items at the Ventura College and Oxnard College Swap Meets.Mrs. Valdivia was preceded in death by her father, Jose Garcia Rosas, and mother, Guadalupe Garcia Garcia.Teresa is survived by her husband, Raymundo G. Valdivia of Santa Paula; sons, Anthony and Hector Valdivia of Santa Paula; sisters, Lisa Martha (husband Francisco Munoz), and Delia Josefina (husband Jesus Valdivia), all of Guadalajara, Jalisco; brothers, Jose (wife Lupita), Pedro (wife Teresa), Francisco (wife Martha Imelda), and Jesus (wife Martha Genoveva), all of Guadalajara, Jalisco; grandson Andrew of Oxnard; and granddaughter Jaydn of Santa Paula. She also leaves sisters-in-law Consuelo Frutos and Catalina Yzaguirre, both of Santa Paula, and Guadalupe Ibarra of Huntington Park. She also leaves numerous nephews and nieces in both Mexico and Santa Paula.Special thanks to Dr. Wong and the nursing staff at Ventura County General Hospital in making the transition very special.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18 from 4 to 9 p.m., with a rosary scheduled at 7 p.m. at Skillin-Carroll Memorial Chapel. The funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 427 N. Oak St., Santa Paula.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E.
