The 11th Annual Rosary Procession is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary, after the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Sebastian’s Church, corner of 9th and Santa Paula Street. This feast marks the 435th anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto, October 7, 1571, when the little Christian fleet, vastly outnumbered, defeated the mighty Turkish armada. Pope St. Pius V had organized a Rosary Crusade; Catholics everywhere were asked to pray the rosary. The Christian soldiers carried swords in one hand and rosaries in the other as they went into battle.
Catholics are invited to participate in this prayerful procession to beg Our Blessed Mother’s intercession and God’s protection. For further information, call Barbara Blewett at 525-7637.
