To encourage teens to “Read for the Fun of It”, Blanchard Community Library joins the Young Adult Library ‘Services Association and the American Library Association in celebrating Teen Read Week, October 15 through 21, 2006.

To encourage teens to “Read for the Fun of It”, Blanchard Community Library joins the Young Adult Library ‘Services Association and the American Library Association in celebrating Teen Read Week, October 15 through 21, 2006.All students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to “Get Wrapped Up in a Good Book” by selecting a book of their choice and reading for at least one hour at the library on Thursday, October 19th from 3 to 6 p.m. Students must sign in no later than 5 p.m. Participants will then receive a special mummy bookmark and a sweet candy treat.
This local celebration is sponsored by Blanchard Community Library and Altrusa International of Ventura. The goal of the library is to remind teens that reading is fun, it’s free, and it’s important to get in the habit of reading regularly and often.
