Pearl Kathryn (Harris) Chapman Pearl Kathryn, 76, passed away on January 29, 2007. She was born on August 29, 1930 in Ursula, Arkansas to Sam and Goldie Harris.Kathryn lived most of her life in Santa Paula. She married Arden “Bud” Chapman on November 29, 1949. She had been working for Sears in Las Vegas for the past 13 years.Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Diana (Steve) Smith of Reno and Sandra (Brice) Greenfield of Pensacola, Florida; sons, Michael Chapman of Santa Paula and John Chapman of Seattle, Washington; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Samantha, Micah, Misha, Mia, Clint and Cori; eight great-grandchildren; aunts, Jean Harris of Santa Paula and Hattie Stem of Arkansas; uncle Harold Boyd of Salinas; and three nephews.Her family and friends will miss her. Services will be private.She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Chapman; parents, Sam and Goldie Harris; and brother, James D. Harris.Donna Lee PadgettDonna Lee Padgett, a long time resident of Santa Paula, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Donna was born February 28, 1937 in Stonewall, Oklahoma. She was a Ventura County resident for 65 years.
Donna retired from the Santa Paula Elementary School District, where she was a cafeteria manager. She loved gardening, camping, gambling and playing Bunco-Bingo, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.She is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Violet Robbins, grandmother Pearl Anderson, her husband Leon Padgett, sister Shirley Ashwood, and brother and sister-in-law Edward and Dagmar Robbins.She is survived by her brother Beauford (Dena) Robbins of Gila, Arizona; children, Debbie (Jaime) Mitchell of Kiowa, Oklahoma, Karen (Ron) Welch of Bakersfield, James (Linda) Robbins of Mariposa, Joyce (Ron) Kelly of Santa Paula, and Ray (Brenda) Padgett of Santa Paula; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a long time friend, Carolyn Steelsmith; and numerous friends.The funeral service was held on Monday, February 12 at Skillin-Carroll Chapel, 738 E. Santa Paula St., with burial following at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Burleson Scholarship at Santa Paula Education Foundation, c/o Santa Paula High School, 404 N. 6th St., Santa Paula, CA 93060.Arrangements were under the direction of Funeraria del ángel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula, 525-5595.
