Santa Paula girl wins Elks essay award

Anais Olivares, a 5th grade student at Glen City School recently took first place in Division I of the annual Elks Essay Contest. Ventura Elks Lodge #1430 puts the writing contest on each year. Her winning essay has been forwarded to the Western Central Coast District, which is the next level of judging. Anais and other winners will be honored March 21 at a dinner to be held at the Ventura Elks Lodge. Last year Glen City students took the top three places in the competition.
