SP Lemons lose grudge match to H & H

The Santa Paula Lemons, Gold Coast Senior Slow-Pitch softball team, lost a grudge match against H & H Auto Electric, 22-21. Tied 4-4 in the first inning, HB & H led by three runs most of the rest of the game. The Lemons managed three runs in the top of the last inning but fell one run short.H & H pitcher Henson Jue hurt his cause by allowing 9 walks, but his teammates bailed him out with their bats. 30-year-old Fernando Renteria hit a home run over the 25-foot-high fence in center field and Henry Villarreal brought in the winning run.In the loss, Rusty Wear hit 4 for 4 with a triple and a double; Barry Fike went 3 for 4 with a double; Hardy Hayes was 3 for 3 with a walk; Bob Russell hit 2 for 2 with a walk and Ralph De Leon, John Gonzales and Sherman Durham all went 2 for 3.
There are two games left in the season, both a Saticoy against Simi Valley teams. The Lemons record this year is 5-13.
