Local Softball team comes home with first place trophy

The Anderson Athletics Girls Softball Team took 1st place at the “Southwest Showdown Tournament” in Las Vegas recently. The Athletics played a total of 7 games in two days and came out ahead with a record of 6-1 with 60 hits and 59 runs total. The one loss came in the first game of the Tournament to Code Red (Vegas)6-3, but Athletics met up with the Code Red team on Sunday for redemption in the Championship Game to win 9-1.
