Man assists woman during asthma attack

On the night of June 16th, 2008 Kelli McAdam was home alone in her apartment. She was having a severe asthma attack and could not get to her breathing machine which was in the bedroom. She began to yell for help but was afraid no one would hear. James Robertson happened to be outside and heard her cry for help. He immediately ran in and quickly carried her to the other room where the equipment was. James helped get her breathing treatment started and was then able to call for assistance.As it turns out Kelli is fine but wants everyone to know James is her hero, “He truly saved my life”. He continues to check on her daily.James and Kelli both live at Harvard Place Apartments in Santa Paula. Harvard Place is an example of inclusive housing where tenants with mental illness or disabilities live among the general population.
James attends the Arc of Ventura County in Santa Paula. He is employed with the Heritage Valley Arc Mobile Detail Business. James is also the Vice President of The Heritage Valley Aktion Club which is sponsored by Santa Paula Kiwanis/Division 42.
