Santa Paula Little Leaguers headed to Cooperstown

Two Santa Paula Little League All-Stars will be heading to Cooperstown, New York to compete in a national baseball tournament this week. Christian Garibay and Anthony Araiza both 12 yrs of age will be playing with their team from Camarillo, the Quakes. Both players have played with the Quakes for 2 1/2 yrs.The Quakes will compete against teams from 27 states, as well as Canada and the U. S. Virgin Islands. They will also have the opportunity to see the Induction ceremonies at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.The Quakes open tournament play Sunday against the Massachusetts Hurricanes. Garibay and Araiza will both play infield and pitch. Both played this past season for the Santa Paula Little League Angels.
The Quakes are comprised of players from Valencia, Camarillo, Ventura and Santa Paula. They are managed by Jim Roberts and coached by Dan Pereira, Ron Araiza and Bryan Garibay.
