A touchdown with 8 minutes on the clock and a two-point conversion gave the Santa Paula Cardinals a 14-13 win over Bishop Diego Friday night at Santa Barbara City College. The win came when Cardinal quarterback Max Moreno pushed his way into the end zone from six-yards out and then tossed the ball to Mike Vera in the end zone for two points.Santa Paula was trailing 13-0 at the half. They came back in the third and drove to the Bishop 30-yard-line. Then the Cards were hit with three delay of game penalties and an illegal procedure call. Another delay of game call later in the quarter didn’t bode well for the Cardinals. Then, with a little over two minutes on the clock, Joe Camacho blocked a punt; Anthony Murillo recovered the ball and hit the end zone for a touchdown. The Cardinals travel to L.A.
