Ada Lee Dowell Ada Lee Dowell, age 82, of Santa Paula, died Friday, November 17, 2000 following a lengthy illness. She was born June 2, 1918 in Red Top, Missouri and was a 59 year county resident, coming from Missouri.Mrs. Dowell retired as a secretary from Prescon Corporation. She was co-founder of the Santa Paula Police Boys Club, active in the PTA and Job’s Daughters, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Santa Paula.Mrs. Dowell will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Theron Dowell of Sacramento; daughter, Milaun Lane of Ventura; daughter and son-in-law, Mickie and Michael Purl of Madera; grandchildren, Brian Lane of Las Vegas, Brad and Kristi Lane of La Mesa, Derrick and Tiffany Purl of Dallas, Oregon, Deanne and Jeremy Graham of Fresno, Andrea and Aaron Johnson of Salinas, and Kerry and Matt Wiles of Madera; and great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Joseph and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Horace Dowell, her son Darlon “Dee” Dowell, and granddaughter Shalee Dowell.Visitation will be held at Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula on Tuesday, November 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29 at 1 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel of Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
