13 Debutantes presented at the Las Patronas Ball

Surrounded by friends and family, thirteen Ventura County high school seniors were introduced as debutantes at the 52nd annual Las Patronas Presentation Ball. The event took place on March 14, 2009 at the Ventura Beach Marriott. Over the past 52 years, members of the Las Patronas have raised more that $1.7 million dollars to help support the philanthropies of the Assistance League of Ventura County.A fan, the time-honored symbol of Las Patronas debutantes, was repeated throughout the evening in both stage and floral decorations. The debutantes wore traditional white dresses and were surrounded by lavish blush and white flowers. Each girl was introduced and then danced the first waltz of the evening with her presenter, before being whisked away for the second dance with her escort. Each debutante wore a delicate gold and pearl fan on a satin ribbon around her neck, presented to them by the Las Patronas Auxiliary.
