Santa Paula “Wish” comes true for 3 year-old

3-year-old Leah Contreras, who lives with lymphoma, left for Disney World on Thursday morning for her wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Wish Granters Lupe Castro of Santa Paula and Mary Cathcart of Ventura planned a special send off party for Leah. Pictured are Leah’s father Fernando Contreras, son 6 year-old Rogelio, and 3 year-old Leah. A limousine picked up the three for their trip to the airport and Disney World.The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. With a staff of only five and the help of more than 100 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Tri-Counties has granted over 1000 special wishes to children in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.If you want to refer a child to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, call 1-888-899-9474 [WISH].
