Santa Paula wrestlers continue to have success

Coach Robert Hastie took 10 wrestlers to a Novice Tournament at Thousand Oaks High School last Friday. Six of the 10 placed. Individual results: Joe Cardenas (189 lbs) 6th place; Eduardo Flores (160 lbs) 6th place; George Gomez (125 lbs) 4th place; Luis Valdovinos (140 lbs) 4th place; Juan Trejo (180 lbs) 3rd place; Ivan Vigil (189 lbs) 2nd place.
Saturday featured a Frosh/Soph and Girls Tournament, also at Thousand Oaks.
Santa Paula Frosh/Soph wrestling results: Emilio Diego (95 lbs) 1st place; Scott Black (112 lbs) 4th place; Eddie Salazar (95 lbs) 6th place. Nine girls also competed. Katie Black (114 lbs) place 4th and Justine Jue (118 lbs) took 2nd place.
