Santa Paula News

Soon Fourth of July Fireworks Donation Cans will be appearing throughout Santa Paula.

When you see them, try to envision a beautiful summer evening and children’s wide eyes looking at amazing colors and hearing the crackle and sizzle of the fireworks.

“We’ve got a great committee” says Al Guilin, Chairman. “To date, we’ve raised $4,652.57. We need a deposit of $7,500 by March and the total cost for the fireworks is $15,000. To our committee, it’s more than just one evening. It’s a reinforcement of the values that made it possible for Santa Paula to be selected as a “Preserve America City”. Ginger Gherardi who got the Fireworks ball rolling concurs. “Fireworks at the Fourth of July reflect our community’s shared values. In years past, the City of Santa Paula was able to fund the fireworks, but with budget cuts and layoffs the city just isn’t able to do it now.  We believe that our community wants the fireworks, and we think our citizens and business will step forward to help make this year’s fireworks a reality”.
