Nicholas F. Mendoza Nicholas F. Mendoza rested in peace after a short illness February 28, 2001. Mr. Mendoza had been a life long Santa Paula resident.He was born February 8, 1922 in Santa Paula and attended local grammar schools and high school. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, honorably discharged after World War II.Upon returning to Santa Paula Mr. Mendoza began his life long career as a meat cutter. He was also an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired in 1993 following the death of his beloved wife, Angelina, and moved to Los Angeles with his only daughter, Adrienne.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Senida Mendoza, brothers Frank, Sam and Joe, and sister Mandy Mendoza. Mr. Mendoza is survived by his daughter, Adrienne and husband Samy Abdelkerim and grandsons Christian, John and Nicholas Abdelkerim; brothers, Isaac Mendoza, Ted Mendoza of Santa Paula, and Edmond Mendoza of Wilmington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mendoza will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a young talented baseball player with his great ability as a catcher.God bless you Ironman.For information on funeral services please call Garcia Mortuary at 486-9148.
