He was born April 6, 1913 to John “Jack” Franklin Stall and Carrie Mae Price Stall in Withrow, Washington. He married Lucile Boles November 5, 1939 in Santa Paula.He moved from Santa Paula in 1940 to accept employment at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, where he was employed from 1940 to 1946. He retired from Dewy Pest Control, Palm Springs in 1980.Lester is survived by his wife Lucile; three daughters, Claudia Stall, Marilyn Moran and Judy Meltzer; four grandchildren; and one great grandson.Services were held March 12 at Palm Springs Mortuary, Palm Springs.Donations may be made in Lester’s memory to Wycliffe Associates, Bible Translators, P.O. Box 2000, Orange, CA 92859.E. Edward BeesonE. Edward Beeson, age 88, passed away March 11, 2001 at his Santa Maria residence. He was born November 29, 1912 in Atkins, Arkansas.Mr. Beeson was originally from Arkansas, where he was a cotton farmer. During World War II he moved to Richmond, California to work in the Kaiser shipyards. After the war he and his family moved to Santa Paula, where he worked for Santa Paula Citrus Association and later for L & O Growers. He retired after serving as manager for 30 years.Edward and his wife Virgie were active members of the First Southern Baptist Church in Santa Paula for over 45 years. He was an avid gardener, and enjoyed fellowship with his church family. In 1999 they moved to Santa Maria to be near their daughter and her family. He took great joy in being a part his his grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ lives.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virgie; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Beeson of Simi Valley; daughter Sue Garrick of Santa Maria; two sisters, Geneva Beeson-Cheek and Euleta Beeson-Darter, both of Atkins, Arkansas; grandsons, Jerry Beeson and wife Holly of Simi Valley, Bobby Garrick and wife Joanne of Lompoc, and Dennis Beeson and wife Marie of Van Nuys; granddaughters, Darla Prewett and husband Fred, and Donna Ontiveros and husband John, all of Santa Maria; and great grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyrell and Shannon Prewett and Kayla Smolley. He was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara, brother J. C. Beeson, and sister Juanita Beeson-Caudle.Visitation will be on March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Life Way Baptist Church, Santa Paula. Services will be held at 1 p.m. March 15 at the church, Pastor Bob Walpole officiating. Interment is at Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, Santa Maria.

Evelyn Hewston Reed, age 88, of Santa Paula, passed away March 3, 2001 in Santa Paula following a lengthy illness. She was born October 5, 1912 in Ventura, and was a lifelong county resident.A homemaker for 70 years, Mrs. Reed was past president of the Santa Paula Ebell Club, and a member of the Eastern Star and the Bardsdale P.T.A.She is survived by her daughter, Judith (husband William) Hair of Ventura; son Gregory (wife Mary) Reed of Glendale; grandchildren, W. Reed (wife Laurie) Hair of Eliot, Maine, Joel M. Hair of Salinas, and Trisha G.
