Santa Paula Angels win thriller

The Santa Paula Angels came back from a 7-2 deficit and scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings to beat the Fillmore Angels 8-7.

The winning rallies began in the bottom of the sixth when Anthony Araiza and Ramiro Avila Singled and scored on a double by Zach Hamrick. Peter Lopez followed Hamrick’s double with a single to get the Santa Paula team close at 7-5 through 6 innings. In the bottom of the 7th with 1 out, Matthew Lopez struck out but hustled to first base on a passed ball. Daniel Kohr then singled, Araiza walked to load the bases. Hamrick delivered a clutch two-out game tying single. After Araiza stole third, Peter Lopez won the game with a walk off single for the win.

The Angels received great pitching from Avila, Kohr and Araiza. And were led by Daniel Kohr, Ramiro Avila, Zach Hamrick and Peter Lopez who each had two hits. The Angels now improve to 5 and 1.
