Christy McClain, chairperson of the 2nd Annual Cardinal Football Golf Tournament says this year’s event was a big success.

It was put on by the Football Booster Club and held at Mountain View Golf Course.  With perfect weather, 17 teams participated in the event.  “Contests, raffles, a great barbeque and an awards ceremony made the 2nd Annual Cardinal Classic a huge success,” McClain said.  “We had over 30 sponsors that donated to the event for team sponsorships, tee signs, t-shirts and raffle prizes.  We were so happy about the great turnout and generosity of the businesses in our community that supported this great event.  We profited over $5000!  We are looking forward to an even bigger, better event next year!”

The winning foursome was from RLD Fire Protection.  The members were Roy Lee, Al Perez, Jimmy Jones and Jon Ferrar.  Contests included Longest Putt (Justin Socia).  Longest Drive (Jimmy Jones).  Straightest Drive (Mark Fallini).  Closest to the Pin (Coach Montoya).
