Firefighters barbecue chicken for youth basketball

Some 800 pieces of chicken were cooked up last week by Santa Paula Firefighters to raise money for the Santa Paula Youth Basketball program. Several local businesses provided the food at discounted prices.

Thanks to Kay Wilson-Bolton for the food containers and Fillmore Fire Chief Landeros and Anthony Scott for loan of the BBQ trailers. The preliminary tally is that $6,000 was raised.

Firefighters participating were: Jerry Byrum, Kevin Fildes, David Lombardi, Matt Klein, Jesse Phillips, Carlos Arana, Travis Knabe and Adrian Topete.
