The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Paula is proud to present the “Toast of the Town” honoring Roy and Barbara Wilson, in celebration of their immeasurable commitment that they have invested in our community. This spectacular event will be held on Friday, May 18th at the Santa Paula Community Center. Tickets are $55. There will be a social hour at 6 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. Please contact the Boys & Girls Club Administrative Office at 525-7910 to purchase tickets. Roy Wilson, president of his senior class in 1935, earned his bachelor’s degree in Subtropical Horticulture at UCLA and is a pioneer in the use of plastic irrigation materials. The Wilsons’ Santa Paula “little spot” is considered home base to what they both consider their proudest achievement - their adult children, who always manage to make frequent visits even though some of the family have to make long distance trips. Janet lives in Palo Alto, Kathleen lives in Paris, Margaret in New Zealand. Their son Christopher lives in Santa Paula.Proceeds from this year’s event will go directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Paula. Board members anticipate tremendous support from the community in acknowledging the Wilsons for their community contributions.In addition to the funds raised through ticket sales, the Boys & Girls Club continues to seek sponsors for this event. Sponsorships range from $250 to $600, and include recognition in the program and tickets to attend the event.
