Rain Perry to teach “Songwriting for Beginners”

Whether you’ve never written a song or have a drawer full of ideas yearning to breathe free, songwriter Rain Perry is ready to help with eight weeks of rhyme and inspiration.

Jumpstart your creative process and learn techniques you can trust in a fun, supportive small group environment.

“Songwriting for Beginners (or Those Who Feel the Need to Start from Scratch)” will run on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. for six weeks, from May 24 through June 28. The price for the class is $200. Classes will meet at Santa Paula Theater Center, 125 S. 7th Street.

Rain Perry is an award-winning songwriter and author of the play “Cinderblock Bookshelves: A Guide for Children of Fame-Obsessed Bohemian Nomads.” She has released three albums on her own Precipitous Records, and her song “Beautiful Tree” is the theme for the show “Life Unexpected” on the CW Network.
