Cardinal boys host Pacifica on soccer field

The Cardinal boys soccer hosted Pacifica Tuesday in a soccer showdown.
The Santa Paula JV team came out hard, but struggled. Down 1-0 at half, fatigue kicked in and they lost 3-0.
On the varsity side The Cards came out hard and had 2 shots off the post. Finally, Danny Fregoso picked up a loose ball and volleyed it into the back of the net. This put Santa Paula up 1-0. Pacifica answered with 2 goals before the half, making the halftime score 2-1. About 20 minutes into the second half, Pacifica scored another goal on a defensive mistake. The Cards answered quickly when David Arana had a nice cross headed in by Jose Gomez. The score was 3-2. During the last 10 minutes, Pacifica scored another goal and the game ended at 4-2.
