The Santa Paula JV ended up winning the consolation round at the recent Fillmore basketball tournament.
The Cards started out with a hard-fought 57-49 loss to St. Bonaventure. The top scorers for the JV were Christian Garcia with 16 points, Isaac Ramirez with 13 and Philip Arellano with 6 points.
In their second game Santa Paula soundly defeated Malibu 67-49, displaying solid defense throughout the game. The Sharks had a hard time against the Santa Paula defense and suffered several turnovers.
Leading scorers for Santa Paula were Isaac Ramirez with 22 points, Philip Arellano with 20, Fidel Estrada with 8 and Christian Garcia with 6 points.
