Mim King and Adam Tosh were married on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the Aviation Museum hangar at the Santa Paula Airport.  The airport was a great influence on Mim’s parents, Russell and Molly King; this unique local airport eventually led to their decision to move to Santa Paula in 1963, where Russ opened his law practice.  The airport was also the site of Russell’s memorial service in March 2006.

A pre-wedding reception was held at the Santa Paula Art Museum on Saturday night, with musical accompaniment by Xavier (“Big X”) Montes.  A simple Baha’i wedding ceremony followed on Sunday with musical accompaniment by the Harmony Connection barbershop quartet and local jazz guitarist Barry Cooper.  CP Aviation piloted “touch and go” Cessna 172 flights for guests’ entertainment.  The Hass Avocado Board donated two cases of avocados to the occasion, completing the citrus theme.

Guests were Adam’s parents, Bill and Carol Tosh of Memphis, TN; Adam’s brother Chris Tosh of Washington, DC; Adam’s daughters Annabelle and Clara Tosh of Mechanicsburg, PA; Mim’s mother, Molly King of Santa Paula, sisters Margaret King (Jamie)of Philadelphia, PA; Anne Sadeghpour (Saeed) of Santa Monica, CA; Nancy King of Ventura; brother Walter King (Connie) of Kerman, CA; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends from around the U.S.

Special guest was Thierry Claudot from France, who attended Santa Paula Union High School in 1968.  Russ and Molly met Thierry’s parents, Pierre and Suzanne Claudot, in Port Lyautey (now Kenitra), French Morocco, North Africa during Russell’s naval service there in 1949.  Over the decades, this longtime friendship allowed Margaret, Walter, and Mim to visit the Claudots in France, and the Claudot children to visit the Kings in California.  Thierry’s son, Vincent, visited Molly in summer 2011.

Adam and Mim met in Lexington, Kentucky in 2007, where Mim runs her professional organizing and daily money management business.  Adam works in institutional investing in Connecticut.  For now, the couple will divide their time between Kentucky and Connecticut.
