Cardinal Softball wins big over Villanova 23-1

The Santa Paula Cardinal Varsity Softball was the host team against Villanova High School on Tuesday.

The Cardinals started the game off big in the bottom of the first inning with a 4 run burst that did not stop inning after inning until the game was called after the 5th inning with the score 23-1.

Marissa Ramos pitched the game throwing a 3 hitter with 5 strikeouts. Ramos also was big at bat along with the rest of the Cardinals. Ramos had 4 runs scored, 2 singles, a double and a homerun and 6 RBI’s. Miranda Magana went 5 for 5 with 3 singles, 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 3 RBI’s. Andrea Payne had 2 singles, 2 RBI’s and a run scored. Britnee had a triple, 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Angie Arana had a single, 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Cierra Hernandez had a single and 2 runs.

The Cardinal Softball team is 2-1 in league play.
