Eagle Scout Sean Chandler unveiled his Walk of Honor Eagle Scout Project at Bardsdale Cemetery last May during their annual Memorial Day Service.  His project included replacing the cemetery’s asphalt walkway to the flagpole with 1500 bricks, many engraved with the names of veterans.  He also removed the curbs at both ends of the walkway and installed handicap accessible ramps.  To complete the project, a monument dedicating the walkway to all veterans was installed and a plaque was placed at the base of the flagpole acknowledging Boy Scout Troop 406’s participation in the project.

Sean would like to thank the members of the community who helped to fund his Eagle Scout Project by purchasing more than 150 engraved bricks for veterans. Sean also is grateful to all the volunteers who worked more than 400 hours on his project, especially the members of Troop 406 and Pack 3400.  Special thanks go to project advisor Ralph Rees, Fillmore Rentals, Fillmore Building Supply, Vulcan Materials Company of Oxnard and especially to Santa Barbara Monumental for donating the beautiful granite monument.  More importantly, this project could not have proceeded without the encouragement and financial support of the Bardsdale Cemetery Board.
